Lithuania allocates funds in support of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine

In order to support the efforts of the United Nations (UN) in the field of human rights, Lithuania has allocated 15 thousand euros to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU).

The UN HRMM in Ukraine monitors, reports and advocates on the human rights situation in Ukraine, with a particular focus on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, and eastern Ukraine.

Lithuania, in response to the annual appeals by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for human rights (OHCHR), has been supporting its activities with voluntary contributions. This year Lithuania contributed a total of 45 thousand euros. The extrabudgetary resources needed for 2021 amount to 385 mln. US dollars.
